Recently, I saw a car with a “Got
Jesus?” bumper sticker. I am
convinced that the persons who put these bumper stickers on their cars are
entirely sincere. Still, the
bumper stickers bother me. We do
not have Jesus; as our Creator, he owns us. As our Savior, he will never lose
any of us.
It is not “wrong” to put the
stickers on our cars, but we need to understand what we are saying when we do
so. Jesus is not a possession. He
is a gift so valuable that we could never purchase or possess Him.
