We Are Adults, Not Children

Occasionally, I will quote persons who may say things which would not normally be said in a Christian blog.  Sometimes they may express anti-Christian ideas or attitudes which we may find offensive.

I will occasionally give you explanations, definitions, and discussion of subjects which may cause you discomfort or embarrassment.  Other subjects may merely be puzzling or shocking.

We are all adults and, even though this is just a blog, this is serious business.  I have no intention of censoring quotations or of limiting the subjects which will be discussed.

We live in a flawed world which has willfully separated itself from God.  We need to be wide-eyed and aware, not stuck in what in what C.S. Lewis called "little boy religion." We are supposed to be like children in our innocence and our dependence on God, but adults in our understanding. We have nothing to fear from knowing exactly what is actually going on around us.

"That we [henceforth] be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, [and] cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;" Ephesians 4:14

"Brethren, be not children in understanding: howbeit in malice be ye children, but in understanding be men." I Corinthians 14:20

"And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ.  I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able. " 1 Corinthians 3:1-2
